Trial date set against men in the case of illegal castration crime

A trial date has been set for two men from southeast Oklahoma who are accused of illegal sex reassignment surgery in their home.

Marion Fry, Associate District Judge in District 16, set August 9, 2021 as the start date for the trial of Thomas Evans Gates, 43, and Bob Lee Allen, 53, both from Wister.

According to court records, Allen and Gates are charged with conspiracy to commit unlicensed surgery, practicing medicine without a license / unlicensed surgery, mutilation of crimes, non-burial of a dead human offense, offense in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful offense charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

All faces an additional offense for attempted distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and offense in possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription.

A sworn affidavit issued by the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office on the case states that a man was taken to the McAlester Regional Health Center on October 14, 2020, where he notified medical staff that he had had surgery to remove his testicles from Allen and Gates performed at a Wister Residence.

The man also told MRHC staff that Allen and Gates “tried to get him to participate in cannibalism,” the affidavit read.

The man told investigators he met Allen while researching castration on a website called – which is short for EunuchMaker and says it is “for all mods and kinks, for all types”.

Investigators wrote that the man flew into Dallas / Fort Worth Airport on October 11th and that Allen drove her to the Wister residence.

The man told investigators he was awake for the two-hour surgery Allen performed, with Gates handing over medical equipment. All told the man after the operation that he would consume the parts, it says in the affidavit.

Investigators were told that the man woke up with profuse bleeding the next morning and Allen told him “No emergency room, no morgue” before being taken to MRHC, the affidavit said.

During a search warrant carried out on October 15, 2020 at the residence, investigators found a freezer “that contained a zip-lock plastic bag with what appeared to be testicles,” a six-foot-high medicine cabinet full of various drugs, medical supplies and mushrooms in pill vials, a cautery tool with blood, xylocaine and much more.

Gates and Allen were out of the residence while the search warrant was being carried out, but were later located and detained with the assistance of the McAlester Police Department.
